我想这句用从句表达时应该是这样的：
Too much work is no excuse for you did not study.
用分词（短语）表达时,省去 “you did”,study 则用现在分词 studying,就成了本句这个样子,那不加“ing”成不成呢?肯定不成.
虽然 for not study 好象也能表达同样的意思,但细看不成,study 作动词的话,本句就会有两个谓语动词 ：is 和 study,所以 study 一定要用“非限定动词”形式,加“ing”变成分词.study 作名词的话,“not study”也不符合文法,而且意思不清楚.
